EagleChild would also express the feelings of Black Elk who said, “All things are our relatives; what we do to everything, we do to ourselves. All is really One.”
When talking about HARMLESSNESS Eagle would stress that we need to use the information we have in a good way and to . . . “Do it right!” He also spoke of the prophecy that said, “The head of the turtle (the North) will tell North America what to do.” The Indigenous voice needs to be heard and understood. The human beings need to “get on the same page” (Eagle would say) if the fragile ecosystem of Mother Earth is to keep its balance.
I recall being at a conference where David Suzuki (“the Nature of Things” on CBC Canada) spoke. Being an authority of Mother Earth and her being Mr. Suzuki spoke of the earth as one organism. Like a cell with many interactions taking place at any given time with every action affecting every being. And this cell is a fragile life in the expanse of the universe. What a perspective! Eagle always said that everything was about movement (the atom) and that energy follows thought. We need to change the way we think and focus on love, compassion, wisdom, and harmlessness in our choices. We have the tools available to us – knowledge, technology, communication. And we do have the answers. It is only with HARMLESSNESS that Mother Earth and the world the human beings have created will be healed. We have been given the power to choose. We each have the ability to do something, no matter how small, to make this world a better place to be. Our actions affect everything and everyone. Let’s fly with the illumination of the Eagle. It is possible! Are you up for the challenge?
Now is time to heal . . . Now is the time for HARMLESSNESS.
